The Lola-Toyota coupé #12 driven by Neel Jani, Nicolas Prost and Nick Heidfeld took the chequered flag in first position of the LMP1 Privateer entrants (5th overall) in the 6 hour British endurance race after dominating since the free practice and qualifying sessions.

Closing this round of the WEC (World Endurance Championship), the young Swiss driver joined the british Team ADR-Delta driving a Oreca 03-Nissan with John Martin and Tor Graves. With only a dozen laps in the dry during Free Practice 1 and 2, difficult weather conditions during Session 3 and a warm-up that was canceled, Mathias actually only discovered his car during his first stint of the race!

The 15th Annual Petit Le Mans race kept its promise and delivered more than 40 cars in this fast and dangerous classic event. On North American soil, team mates Mathias Beche & Pierre Thiriet arrived for the final ELMS event of the season, in conjunction with the American Le Mans Series. The successful LM24 line-up of Thiriet/Beche/Tinseau proved yet again to be the perfect combination for success.

After 3 free practice sessions, all under very tricky weather conditions, the qualifying took place with sunny weather. Mathias took the opportunity to demonstrate his and the cars full potential and unlike the other competitors, had saved a brand new set of tyres for qualifying, having prepared their race set-up by using old tyres in the free practice sessions. Pushing hard, Mathias and the n°46 TDS Racing Oreca managed a fantastic front row slot, finishing only 0.142 off the pole time !

AN AMAZING SECOND PLACE AT LE MANS WAS LIKE A VICTORY FOR MATHIAS BECHE AND THIRIET BY TDS RACING.

Achieving the fastest lap on wednesday, Beche eventually got 4th on the grid after the thursday qualification. The Swiss driver concentrated his efforts on enhancing this performance with a significant result during the race. After a great start where Beche even led the LMP2 category, the Thiriet by TDS car had to be brought back into the garage due to a "throttle blip" problem. Thanks to the fantastic work by the mechanics, the N°46 was back on track seven minutes later.

Winner of both the Spa-Francorchamps and Estoril 6 hour races last year, Mathias Beche was taking the traditional inaugural round of the Paul Ricard HTTT with a calm but determined approach. Competing against «reference teams» in endurance racing, together with well known professional racing drivers like Stephane Sarazin, Nicolas Minassian and Sebastien Buemi, the main target for the Swiss driver was to stay out of trouble and finish the race with good pace and to achieve a convincing result.

On a busy track, these two working tasks were scrupulously respected in order to prepare in the best way possible for the first race of the season: the 6 hours of Castellet. After the first successful shakedown of the new car at the end of February, Mathias Beche and the whole French Team pursue the task of developing the Oreca 03 and the Dunlop tyres which the n°46 will be using in 2012.
